God's Intervention into Human Affairs
As I read the story of Queen Esther again this morning, I was amazed at how it parallels what we need today. We need for God to intervene into the situation in the USA and to bring about His righteousness. We need His intervention to correct the morality and the public policies of the United States. Unfortunately, I fear that many Christians do not believe it is possible at this point in our history.
What if Mordecai and Esther had felt that way in their day? The Jews would have been virtually wiped out. Mordecai would have been hanged, and the evil Haman would have ruled next to the king of Persia. Evil would have triumphed, as God's people were defeated. However, it did not end that way, did it? Mordecai and Esther began to pray and to fast. They called on God to intervene on behalf of His people and on behalf of righteousness. God answered their prayers by His direct intervention into human affairs. That is not the only time He did that. He has done it many times. We need for Him to do it again. I think He is waiting on His people to pray and to fast. What about it? Will you cry out to God in that way or not? Do you think He is our only hope? If you do, please, make that commitment to call upon Him with prayer and fasting. Then, we will see how He answers.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Esther 9-10 and Acts 7:1-21.
