Facing the Trials of Life - Ecclesiastes 4-6 and II Corinthians 12

Everyone has trials in life. Solomon said that the only way a person will not have trials is to not be born. Everyone else has good things and bad things that happen to them. The rich have their challenges. The poor have theirs. Those who work can even fall into the trap of working too much, and the lazy folks suffer from lack of work. Life is a series of trials. One thing that helps us in our trials is to have friends. A friend helps us accomplish more and to recover from problems more quickly. A friend helps to pick us up. Also, the main thing about life is to fear God and to keep His will and to keep our vows to Him. He will guide us through the trials of life.

Paul is a great example of this truth. Paul was privileged to experience many revelations from God, but he also was given a thorn in the flesh to keep him from exalting himself. Through it all, he learned a great lesson about facing trials. He found out that when he was weak, then, he was strong. Why did he say that? Because when he was weak, he would allow God to help him even more, so he was even stronger. We all need to realize this. However, Paul was blessed by God in so many ways, but he still had problems with people rejecting him. This was true of the ones he loved, too. That really hurts! Paul was able to go on, and still love them when they had rejected him, because he was doing God's will. He was content to follow the Lord and to do His will in His power. That is how to face the trials of life.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ecclesiastes 7-9 and II Corinthians 13.
