Be Holy for I, the Lord, am Holy Leviticus 19, 20 and Matthew 27:51-66

God is holy. He is totally separated from sin, and He always does the right thing in every situation. He commands us to be holy, too, because that is the best way for anyone to live. In other words, it helps us to live better, if we are holy. Most people think that the way of this world is the best way to live. They are wrong. God´s way is far better, but it is very different from the world. Therefore, if we are holy, we will have to be different. Think about this as you read the laws in Leviticus 19 and 20. Each one is designed to help us have a better life, not to keep us from experiencing everything. It is far better to conform to God´s ways than to live by the world.

Then, as you read Matthew 27, think of how Jesus is God, and He is holy. His death was so different. The centurion and others could see that. He is so holy and powerful that they really thought He could rise from the dead. Therefore, they set a guard on His tomb. What a difference between Jesus and us. No one would expect a regular person to rise from the dead. However, the truth is that as Jesus rose from the dead, we too will rise if we know Him. He wants us to be like Him in holiness, and He wants us to be with Him forever.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 21 ,22 and Matthew 28.
