Plead with the Lord
When we are truly desperate, we get to the point where we will plead for help. It doesn't matter what word we use to describe what we will do, but we will beg and do whatever we can to express the urgency of the situation. We do this with other people when we have drastic needs, and we are commanded to do the same thing with the Lord. We need to let Him hear our pleading, loudly, clearly, and sincerely.
When Jesus sent out 72 of His disciples to go into the surrounding towns and villages, He gave them an urgent admonition. (Luke 10:2) He said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." The situation has not changed today, except it is even more necessary than in Jesus' day.
Millions of people in our world need to hear about Jesus. They need to be told the gospel message, so they will know how Jesus died and rose again for their sins. Then, they can turn from the sins, trust Jesus, and surrender to Him as Lord. However, they must hear these truths from somewhere in order to know the truth and be saved. We need to plead with the Lord to send out laborers into His harvest.
When we make that urgent plea to God, we need to make sure that we are already doing our part in God's harvest. It is hypocritical for us to plead with God to use others, when we are not going and telling. Please, remember what it says here. This is "God's harvest." We can't convince anyone to follow Jesus. We can't save anyone, But we can be a laborer to take the gospel out to our world, and we can plead for more workers to join us.
