A Narrow Door
There are all kinds of doors in this world. There are big doors and small doors. There are wide doors and narrow doors. I have seen doors that are so marrow and small that a regular size person could not get through them. Then, there are huge, wide doors that very large machinery can pass through easily. The most important door for us to go through is the door that leads to salvation and the kingdom of God.
Jesus spoke about the door to the kingdom of God on several occasions in the Bible. He said it was a narrow door or gate. (Luke 13:24) Jesus admonished all of us to strive to enter through the narrow door, because many will seek to enter and will not be able. This statement by our Lord makes us think. Why would so many people not be able to enter the kingdom of God?
The religions of this world teach that there are many paths or doors to paradise. They try to convince people that all they have to do is to choose one of those doors, and they will be fine. It might be a door that their people-group teaches them about, or it might be the door that suits their likes and dislikes. The problem is that those doors lead to a different place than paradise or heaven. We must not fall for those false religions that teach the wrong doors.
We must strive to enter the narrow door like Jesus said. The narrow door is one of a kind. It is totally unique. It is not hard to enter, but there is only one way to get through it. We must repent of our sins and put our trust in Jesus, as Lord and Savior. It takes faith in Him, not faith in ourselves or religious works. Many people won't enter by faith because their pride and desire to choose their own will keeps them from exercising true faith. I pray none of us will allow that to happen to us.
