The Life God Blesses
People all over the world are religious. It seems that every culture on the planet worships something. Of course, many of these cultures have idols and gods which they have created to fit what they want. It does not help them in their lives to worship those gods, except to soothe their consciences a little by their religious practices. Then, even among Christians, there are many who just practice religion. They go to church and carry out all types of rituals. However, their lives are still not fully blessed by God. Why is that? Jeremiah showed us that many years ago. (Jeremiah 7:23) Of course, it is written in many places in the Bible, but for some reason, we need to be reminded of this consistently.
God is not pleased with religion. He desires a personal relationship with each believer. He wants us to listen to Him, talk with Him about our needs and the needs of others. Then, He wants us to honor Him as Lord by obeying all that He tells us and all that is in His Word. That is what we do in our human relationships with the people we love, isn't it? Why would we think we should do less with God? God blesses the life of the person who obeys Him and follows every way He commands them to follow. If we want our lives to be blessed and to go well that should be our intent every day.
