Repeating History
Each year as I read through the Old Testament Prophets the message becomes more relevant to what we see happening to us in the USA. We are poised to repeat history. That is a very unwise thing to do, and there is no excuse for it, since we have many examples of what happens when a country speaks and acts against God.(Isaiah 3:8) God does not play favorites. All countries that go against the Sovereign God of the universe fall for precisely that reason. It is not about economics, enemies, or technology. God makes sure that we know that no one and no country can go against Him and survive.
Therefore, we will be dealing with sins and truth for the next several months. The prophets came to warn Israel, Judah, and Jerusalem to repent or fall. They failed to respond. Will we fail, too? I know the topics of these posts may not be too "positive" at times, as we journey through the Prophets. However, we must see our sins in order to be able to repent and to stop from repeating history. Please, join me in praying that America will return to the Lord, and that we, as Christians, will lead the way by our words and actions.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 4-6.
