Life and Favor

We all need to remember that life is a precious gift. We did not cause ourselves to be alive. We were born through the glorious miracle of conception, which was designed by God to bring us into this world. We owe all of our existence to God. Without His wisdom and His design in creation, no one would be alive. Let's be thankful to our God for being gracious to us even if we experience all of the ups and downs of life.

Job realized this truth while he was in the midst of his great trial. He was suffering greatly, but he knew why he had life. (Job 10:12) He declared that God had granted him life and favor, and God's care had preserved his spirit. This is an amazing statement for him to make at such a time, but it is very true. We need to hear what Job was saying to all of us.

If God had not granted us life, we could not experience the good times or the bad times. Just think of all of the blessings of life we get to experience just in one day of life. Then, we should step back and figure up all of the days we have lived. Truly, life is good in so many ways. Let's not focus on the bad things but on the blessings, which are far more than the trials.

Then, let's thank God for the favor He has extended to us. We can know God, and we can enter His presence in prayer any time. We can have a relationship with our Creator. What a blessing! If that isn't enough, we can know that His care has preserved our spirit. He has cared for us and taken us through the hard times, so that we were not destroyed as a person. Our spirit can always relate to Him and seek Him, so we can know His will and do it well.
