Natural Vigor Not Diminished

Growing old is a process in which we gradually become weaker physically. Our eyes often become dim because of cataracts. Our hearing is not as sharp. We are able to do the things we need to do, but it just takes more effort than when we were younger. This is something that all of us should expect to happen as we age. However, God blesses some people with strength longer than others according to His purpose and plan.

Moses is a great example of this. (Deuteronomy 34:7) Moses was 120 years old when he died yet his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. What a blessing from the Lord! I believe God did that for Moses, because He knew exactly what Moses needed to be able to do to lead 2,000,000 in the wilderness. God blessed Moses with that ability, and He will do the same for His children today.

If we are still alive, God has something for us to do. If we are not a Christian, God is giving us time to repent of our sins and, put our trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, so we will have eternal life in heaven when we die.  If we are already saved, God has a purpose for our life. We need to be sensitive to what He wants us to do and do it with all of our strength.

When we are totally sold out to the Lord, He can use us to do great things. I don't mean we will all be great evangelists or prominent leaders. What I mean is that God will have a significant job for us to complete before He takes us home. If we are faithful to that task, God will give us whatever strength we need, just like He did for Moses. I pray we all will be blessed with natural vigor and be used by God in our old age.
