Our Sin and God's Solution
There are some things that are just true, and we have no way to get around them. We can try to argue our way out, but we will always fail. It is a reality that we all will die, unless Jesus comes back before that day. We can ignore that fact, or try to say it isn't true, but that will be to no avail. As the Bible says, "It is appointed to man once to die." There is no way out of it.
Another truth that we can't change is that we are all sinners. (Romans 3:23-24) All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore, we are under the burden of sin which is spiritual death, unless we receive the gift of justification through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Please, allow me to elaborate.
Sin is anything we do that doesn't live up to God's standard, His glory. God is perfect, without any sin, so we are separated from Him by our sins. God knew that would happen, so He made a way for us to be justified. That means to be just as if we had never sinned. We can't do it by being good or by doing works, because one sin is one too many. We can only be justified as a gift from God.
The way that happens is that we come to realize that Jesus Christ is God, who became a man, while remaining God. He was the God/Man so He could have His perfect blood shed for our sins and die in our place. He paid for our sins. That is what redemption means. Now, if we put our faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, God gives us the gift of making us "just as if we had never sinned." That is the greatest gift we could ever receive, and it is the only solution for our sins.
