Stability in Life
Life can be very enjoyable, and it can be very difficult. It can be a series of highs and lows. All of these factors causes many of us to have good days and bad days. We don't know from one day to the next how we will be doing. God doesn't intend for our life to be lived in that way. He wants us to have stability.
David had found the key to living a stable life, and his life had as many challenges as anyone ever had. (II Samuel 22:2) He declared to everyone that the Lord was his rock and his fortress and his deliverer. I wonder how many of us could say that? I wonder how many of us have that kind of stability in our life?
We all need to have our life securely anchored to the Rock. God is our Rock. He never changes. Nothing ever causes Him to fluctuate from doing what is right. He is never depressed. When we trust in Him for salvation and everything in our life, He becomes our firm foundation, so we do not have those fluctuations either. We are steady, no matter what comes.
He is our Fortress, too. He is where we go when we are attacked or have other dangers. When we go to Him, we are secure. There is no need for fear. We know He loves us, and He is our Deliverer. There is no one or nothing that can defeat us while He is on our side. He is our Stability for the storms of life.
