The Sure Way to be Destroyed
Moab was one of the neighbors of Israel. They were a powerful, proud nation. Now, they are nowhere to be found. We never hear anything about Moabites, except in history. God destroyed them as a people. (Jeremiah 48:42) Why did God do that? They exalted their country against God. This happens to people groups and countries, but it can and will happen to individuals, too, if we make the terrible mistake of exalting ourselves against the Lord of all. I pray we will try to do our part to make sure this doesn't happen.
Our country is coming very close to committing Moab's sin and being destroyed in my opinion. Our government leaders are making rulings and laws that go directly against the truth of God. They are saying that they know better than God. Then, they are fighting against the things of God and the people of God by making their way the only right way. They are trying to blot out anything that has to do with the Lord, the Bible, and the church. This is so sad. We do not need to be angry with our leaders, so much as we need to pray for them and pray for God to raise up new leaders, so our country will not be exalting itself against the Lord. Then, we need to check our own hearts to make sure, we are not thinking we know better than God, so that we are doing things our way instead of His way. When we do that, we are saying we are the Lord of our own life, and there can be only one Lord. Let's humble ourselves and submit to the Lord. Let's never fight against Him and His ways. Let's always be on His side, never against Him.
