Cast Your Burden on the Lord
Sometimes we have burdens on us that weigh us down in various ways. Stressful times and events can be burdens on us. We can be weighed down by sadness or loss. At other times we just don't know how to handle a situation, so we are weighed down by worry. No matter what the burden happens to be or how many burdens we have, God has promised to help us. (Psalm 55:22) If we will cast our burden on the Lord, He will sustain us. He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. I wonder if we have done this, or if we are going through life with heavy burdens we can's handle?
Life is hard. God designed it to be that way. Yes, He did. Jesus said it Himself. While we are in this world, we will have tribulations. The burdens of life are not allowed by God or caused by God to harm us, but to help us. They are meant to drive us to rely on God. If we never have troubles, we would try to do it all by ourselves, and we would miss God's plan for our life. However, when we cast our burdens on Him, and He sustains us, we find that trusting Him is much better than doing things for ourselves. He will not allow us, as believers, to be shaken when we put our faith in Him and walk with Him each day, casting all of our burdens on Him. God doesn't forgive our sins when we trust Jesus. just so we can go to heaven when we die. He saves us to have an eternal relationship with Him, beginning at the moment of salvation. He saves us to have an abundant life here on earth, and then to go to be with Him in heaven. I pray that none of us will miss the abundant life here, because we try to carry our burdens, instead of casting them upon the Lord.
