Boasting in God All Day Long
I think we all know that pride leads to all kinds of sins, and we should not boast about what we do. We do not like arrogant people, and others don't like us when we are boastful about ourselves. It is much better to be humble like our Lord Jesus Christ. Just like He said, we can't do anything without Him, so we do not need to take the credit for anything we do. However, there is a type of boasting that is very good. (Psalm 44:8) The psalmist hit the nail on the head when he confessed that God's people were boasting in God all day long. In fact, they decided they would praise His name forever. That type of boasting has the power to change lives and even change our world. Let's consider what we should be doing all day long.
I wonder how often we speak to others about God every day? Yes, I know it is hard to know what to say and how to bridge our conversations from the regular daily topics to getting to talking about God in a natural way sometimes. That is why what the psalmist said is so insightful. We can boast about God to anyone we meet, and we will not be offensive to them. We can talk about how great and loving He is to us. We can give specific examples of what He is doing for us. Yes, we can simply be praising Him for who He is forever and do it on a daily basis by boasting in Him with the people we meet, as well as, our family and friends. Just think how that honors God and how it can influence others to come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior, too. After all, since God has been so good to us, as His children, we should have an endless amount of things to boast in Him about all of the time. I pray we will all be intentional about making this a part of our lives all day every day. Then, we can watch to see what happens.
