A Vital Prayer Request

The Bible gives us many instructions for how to pray and for what we should pray. Prayer is like breathing. It is essential to having a healthy spiritual life. It is talking with God about everything, and including our praise of Him and our thanksgiving for all He does for us. Prayer is a joy when we do it often, and it becomes a natural part of our lives. God loves our prayers, and He answers our prayers, when we pray sincerely in faith. However, He can't answer when we don't ask, and sometimes, we do not ask because we do not think about praying for the right things. That is why we have prayer requests and prayer lists. That way, we do not forget to pray for the most important things. Paul made a vital request to the believers in Thessalonica. (II Thessalonians 3:1) He asked for them to pray for him that the word of God would spread quickly and be glorified, as he went through the world, just like it did when he shared it with them. I believe we should add this to our prayer list and pray it for our churches and for all of us.

The word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, as God tells us in the book of Hebrews. It has the ability to spread very quickly to the hearts of many people when we are faithful to share the Word with others and help them grow in the Lord. This should be our prayer and our goal every day, "Lord, please use me to see your word spread quickly." That was Paul's prayer, and God answered it for him. He will do the same for us, if we pray and submit to Him. Also, we should pray that the word of God would be glorified by us, as we share it and live it out. We should pray that all we do and say would bring glory to Jesus and the Word, not to us. God should get all of the credit for what we are able to do and how His word works to change lives. God will gladly answer this type of prayer and we will see the word of God spread very quickly in our community and in our world. Please, join me in praying this prayer.
