Living in Our Integrity

Integrity is essential for the believer. We must practice what we preach. We must say what we mean, and mean what we say. People must be able to observe our life and know that we tell the truth and not lies. Others must realize that we are what they see. We are not hypocrites. Job realized the importance of hanging on to His integrity. (Job 27:5,6) He was determined that his friends were not right, so he was not going to give in and say they were right. That would be putting away his integrity, which he would not do for the rest of his life. He was holding to his righteousness and would not let it go. In fact, Job's heart did not reproach any of his days of life. That is a marvelous testimony for any of us to have.

When we read this passage, Job could come off as being conceited or proud. He was neither. He was simply stating the truth. He lived by integrity, and he knew he was righteous before God. He had done nothing wrong to cause his suffering. Therefore, it would be a lie to say that he did or say that his friends were right. He was not sinful before God. His heart bore witness that he knew that Lord and had done God's will . I pray we can all do the same. We must not be proud or conceited when we become spiritually mature. We can humbly declare that we are right and others are wrong. We can live in righteousness before God, and have a wonderful testimony that our heart doesn't reproach any of our days. We belong to the Lord and all praise goes to Him for anything we are able to do. Jesus saved us by His sacrifice. He sanctified us by His Spirit being in us to lead us to become more like Him. All we need to do now is follow Him and do His will for all to see, living in total integrity in what we say and do.
