Nothing to Fear, No Need to Worry
Many people are paralyzed by fear and worry. I am afraid this is even true for many believers. God doesn't intend for us to fear anyone or anything but Him. God has commanded us not to worry. So why are so many people destroyed by fear and worry? I believe there are two things that He revealed to Jeremiah in the days the people went down to Egypt for safety after Jerusalem was destroyed. (Jeremiah 46:27) God assured His people that He would save them, even if He had to bring them from a far country. Then, He told them that things would be normal again for His people. They would be safe and secure. I think these are two keys for all believers to get rid of fear and worry.
The first key is faith in God. Faith does away with fear. If we really trust Him and know that God will save us from whatever happens, we will not fear people or circumstances. If we trust Him to save us, we will rest secure in His love and strength, instead of being afraid that we will not be able to care for ourselves. Then, the second key is to know that God realizes we need stability. We need the assurance that even though we have trials, God will bring us back to a safe and secure place in our lives. He will do this at the right time and in the right way, so we do not need to worry. We simply need to pray for His will and follow Him each day, as He leads us to the normal life again. Therefore, I recommend that all of us, as believers, concentrate on our faith in God' power to save and His knowledge of what we need. When we have both of those factors, fear and worry will be gone.
