Don't Stoop to Cheap Whining
Jeremiah prophesied during the worst time in the nation of Judah, just before many were killed, the temple destroyed, and many people taken into exile in Babylon. He delivered God's Word, but no one listened. In fact, they got angry with him and with God. This drove Jeremiah to the point of despair. He got angry with God for allowing him to go through this abuse, and he said some things to God that he didn't really mean. God listened and lovingly answered him by asking Jeremiah to rethink his words and take them back. Then, God gave him a wonderful promise. (Jeremiah 15:19,20) I think this shows us how much God loves each of His children and what He is willing to do for us, if we will just stop our cheap whining, and speak to Him about our hurt.
God is always ready to restore our relationship after we have become upset with Him for any reason. It is not a sin to get upset with God, but it is a sin, not to listen to what He has to say to us in response. We need to listen and do what He says, so we can get over our anger and be right with God and others. When we return to God, we will not cower in fear, but we will be able to stand tall before Him. All He asks of us is to use words truly and well to express our heart to Him. We must not simply whine about our problems, like so many people do. We must speak what God shows us and not conform our speech to what we hear others saying. If we will return to God in that way, He will make us a steel wall, a thick steel wall that is impregnable. Others will not be able to put a dent in us because God will stay at our side, defending and delivering us. That is what He did for Jeremiah, and He will do the same for us, if we listen to Him and return to Him with all our heart.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 17-19.
