The Depth and Height of God's Love
I am afraid we take the love of God for granted much of the time. It is something we know and appreciate, but we do not glory in the greatness of His love the way we should. We do not speak of it and sing of it in our daily lives as we interact with other people, as often as we should. David realized this truth, and he tried to do what he could to thank God for His love everywhere he went. He sang God's praises for His love in town and in the country. He did this because he saw that God's love was so deep that it could reach high in the sky, and whenever he saw a cloud, it was like a flag of God's faithful love for us. (Psalm 57:9,10) I pray we all will be overwhelmed by the love of God, so we will share it everywhere we go.
We are living right now in a time where we see hatred all around us. People are attacking other people. They are burning buildings and looting stores because of their anger and hatred. Some people are reacting by lashing out in hatred, instead of reacting in the love of God. Yes, violence and looting are very wrong in every way. However, we should be able to love the sinner and hate the sin. I wonder if we realize that every one of the people in the streets are loved by God. They are people for whom Jesus died. God wants each of them to be captivated by the love of God and saved from their sins, so their lives will be completely changed by the power of God's love. That is not likely to happen, unless God's people are vocal in sharing the love of God, not just on social media, but in person wherever we go. I know things are crazy right now. Remember, God is still on the throne. He is still love. Jesus is still calling everyone to trust Him and be saved. Let's be part of the solution to the problems by showing forth the depth and height of God's love.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 58-61.
