The Revelation of God to Us
The Hebrew words God inspired in the Old Testament have various shades of meaning that come from the origins of the words. That is why we have different words in different translations. Most are not changing the Bible, but they are filling up the meaning with those backgrounds. That is one reason I am reading the Message translation this year. It gives a lot of the Hebrew meaning for us. That is really true for David's description of God's Word in Psalm 19.(Psalm 19:7-9) Let's look at the fullness of God's revelation in all of its forms. I believe it will help us.
God's law is His revelation of Himself, His nature, and His ways, and it is complete, perfect. He does not leave out anything we need to know to have a complete life. God gives us signposts through His testimony in His Word,. They are clear, and they lead us down the right road. God give us life-maps, showing us the way to joy. His commands are His directions. They are easy to understand, and they are easy for our spiritual eyes to see. God's reputation is pure gold. It endures forever, staying the same. God's decisions which we see in the Bible are always correct in every detail. All of these things are reasons to read God's Word, to memorize it, to pray it, and to then listen, watching for God to reveal Himself to us in ways that line up with His Word. All of this is God's way of not leaving us on our own in this evil world.
