Receiving God's Instruction
God is the best teacher we could ever have. He has all wisdom and knowledge. He wants to help us know the way to go. He always has His eye on us. However, he has a problem with some of us. We can be like a horse or mule without understanding, and which is so stubborn that it will not come near to the Master for instruction, unless he controls it with a bit and bridle. (Psalm 32:8,9) That is a graphic picture for all of us. We all need to heed this warning.
God loves us, and He wants what is best for us. He has a plan for our life that is better than anything we could ever imagine. However, we have to listen to Him and follow His instruction. (Ephesians 2:10) He will not force us to follow His plan for our life. If we want to go the wrong way, we are on our own. That is why we must not be stubborn and want to go our own way. If we will not go near to the Lord unless we are forced to do so, our life will be pretty miserable. We will miss His love for us, His plan for us, and His instructions for us. I urge all of us to look into out hearts to make sure we are not like the people the psalmist is describing here. If we are, we need to repent and to submit to the Lord on a daily basis, going to Him for His instruction and counsel. Then, things will be much better.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 33-35.
