Give Her Praise
God is always to be praised. He is worthy of all types of praise. We need to be careful not to take any of the praise that is due God away from Him. However, there are others that should be praised. One of these types of people is the subject of Proverbs 31. (Proverbs 31:30,31.) I believe the Lord had this to be recorded for us because these people are often overlooked when it comes to praise.See if you agree with me.
This world and even a lot of believers praise ladies that have charm and beauty. They are the ones who make the headlines. The shelves in the grocery store are filled with magazines that praise this type of women. They could be very immoral, but they still receive praise. When was the last time you heard someone praise a woman who fears the Lord. I am speaking about hearing this at home, at church, or in the community. Yes, it happens, but not as much as it should in proportion to the others. We should all realize that charm can be very deceitful. Ladies can use their charm to get their way. Beauty is vain, because no matter how much surgery a lady has her beauty will fade. However, the fear of the Lord is stable, and it grows over the years. The woman who fears the Lord is a great blessing to her husband, and he should praise her regularly. Also, she should be recognized for her work by the church and in the community. It is very hard to be a wife and a mother. Then, if a lady is able to do other things to profit her family and others, she deserves praise for those things, too.
My wife is an excellent example of a woman who fears the Lord. I try to praise her often, but I am sure I fall short. Let's all do our part to make sure we follow the instructions we find here in Proverbs. If we do, we will be giving praise where praise is really due.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ecclesiastes 2-4.
