Ordering Our Ways Before God
King Jotham found the key to becoming mighty in the Lord. He ordered his ways before the Lord. (II Chronicles 27:6) Some people think this is impossible for them, but it is not. Anyone can learn to do this and to be blessed by the Lord. What will you decide to do?
Having order in our lives requires discipline. We have to embrace the fact that discipline is good, and God blesses us for being disciplined. Most people think that discipline is bad, because they only want to do what they like and do it when they want to do it. They do not want order. They want to be totally spontaneous all of the time. That does not lead to becoming mighty.
In order to become mighty in the Lord, we have to die to our desires, and we must trust that the Lord knows best for us. Then, we must apply ourselves to do what His Word says, making that our priority. If we do this, we will have to plan our schedule to do all of those things consistently. That is ordering our ways before the Lord. We ask Him when and how He wants us to do these things, so that. we can please Him, not ourselves. Then, we work the plan He shows us as our daily routine. This honors the Lord, and He will honor us for honoring Him. As we do the right things in faith, we will become more mighty with every passing day.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 28-30.
