God Speaks to Us
The Bible is very clear. God speaks to people. However, I have heard from many people over the years that they did not hear God speaking to them. That is a huge problem. Just because they do not hear what God is saying does not mean that He is not speaking to them. Elihu knew this truth, and he wanted to remind Job of it, because Job had not been hearing from the Lord. (Job 33:14,16) I believe we can learn from what he told Job.
God is not limited to only one way to speak to us. He speaks in different ways, so we will have a better chance of hearing Him and listening to Him. He can even speak in dreams or visions, if that is what it takes. The Lord will not stop speaking to us until He gets through to our hard hearts that are not tuned into Him. At some point He will open our ears, so we will hear Him. Then, He will terrify us with His warnings about how we are going to end up without Him for eternity, if we do not repent and listen to Him. Even then, we have the choice whether to listen to Him or not. Many people still ignore the voice of God, but they will never be able to say that they did not hear from Him. They are without excuse before God for eternity.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 34-37.
