No Quarreling
I don't think many people like to quarrel or argue with others, but I have met a few people who seem to enjoy it. The Bible tells us not to quarrel with others, and Isaac lived by that rule. When he traveled to Gerar and his herdsman quarreled over the wells of Abraham that he was redigging, he simply moved on to another place until he came to one where they did not argue with his men. Then, he named it "Rehoboth" which means a broad place, where there was plenty of room, no quarreling, and they could be fruitful. (Genesis 26:22) That is where God wants all of us to come to in our lives.
Have you come to God's wide place for you? It may be that we have to move a few times like Isaac, but if we seek the Lord, trusting Him to guide us, I believe He has a fruitful place for all of His children who are followers of Christ. He desires for the quarreling and fighting to end, and for all of us to bear fruit for Him. (John 15:1-8) In fact, He wants us to bear much fruit by abiding in Him. If we are always having to quarrel with others, we get distracted, and we lose energy that should be used to seek the Lord and bear fruit. We should all pray diligently for God to bring us to our fruitful place, our Rehoboth.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 27-29.
