Jesus Rescued Us
I know we have all seen so many T.V. shows and movies that had to do with someone being rescued from someone or something. It is always exiting and a great thrill when the rescue is complete and the person is safe from harm. Let me tell you the greatest rescue of all times. God has rescued those who come to Christ, and He has transferred us from the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. As a part of our rescue, Jesus paid for our sins, He redeemed us, and our sins are forever forgiven. (Colossians 1:13,14) Now, that is the most fantastic rescue, and it is completely true, no one had to make it up.
My only T.V. show now, besides watching a little sports, is Walker, Texas Ranger. I like the fact that he stands up for what is right, and he always defeats the bad guys. Most of the time, Walker has to break in and fight the criminals, to rescue someone or bring someone to justice. That is exactly what Jesus did for us. We all were in bondage to Satan and his forces because of our sins. Jesus broke into this domain of darkness to become a man, and He died on the Cross and rose again to defeat Satan completely and redeem those who trust Him by His shed blood and sacrificial death. We are forgiven and free, belonging to the Lord and safely in His arms forever. What a rescue! What a Savior!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Colossians 2-4.
