Times of Refreshing

Do you need a time of refreshing and renewal in your life at this point? Many times we need such a time, but we are unsure of how to go about receiving it. Peter gave us a guide in his second sermon in the book of Acts, after the healing of the lame man outside the Temple. (Acts 3:19) Let's see what he said to them and apply it to our lives, so we can have the best type of refreshing.

Peter called on the people to repent and return. Repent means to change your mind in such a way that it leads to a change of actions, a change of direction in our lives. When we get down, and we need to be refreshed, the problem is the sins we have begun to practice in our lives. They bring us down. Before refreshing can come, we must turn from those sins and turn to the Lord in faith to do His will instead of those sins. Then, God can cleanse us from the sins, wiping them away thoroughly. It is at that point that the times of refreshing burst upon our lives. They are times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. There is nothing more refreshing than being in the presence of the Lord when He is pleased with us. Believe me, when we repent and return to Him, He is pleased, and He will renew us by His power. Why not turn to Him today and experience life at its best?

Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 4-6.
