God's Will for Us

Paul had more trials with the believers in Corinth than in any of the other churches he planted, as far as we can tell from his letters. However, he had the same hopes and dreams for all of the saints in all of those churches. He gives us a quick synopsis of God's will for them that served as the basis of his desire for each of them. (II Corinthians 13:11) Let's look at this list and see how we are doing,

It is God's will for all His children to rejoice in Him all of the time. He is so good to us, even in our trials, that we always have a reason to praise Him. He commands us to "be made complete." That means we are to grow to maturity. We can't do that without His Spirit's power, but it won't happen without our willing cooperation either. He desires to comfort us in all of the ways we need His comfort, which comes from His Spirit. His comfort is giving His strength to us in the midst of our loses and pains. God always wants us to be like-minded with other believers. We should never have a disagreement over God's obvious instructions in His Word and His clear purpose for us as Christians. Also, we should always live in peace with other believers and non-believers, as far as it concerns us. Then, if we will do these things, the God of love and peace will be with us all of the time. Wouldn't that be so much better than what we see most of the time today? Well, it is possible, because it is God's will for us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Galatians 1-3.
