God's Care for His Children
God loves us, as believers, so much that He gives us all kinds of promises in His Word. We can always have confidence that He will keep His promises. One of the most precious promises is an assurance for us about everything that happens in our lives. (Romans 8:28) It is an amazing promise, but we can take God at His word.
The promise is that God causes "all things" to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. In other words, God is watching over us in everything that happens in our lives, and His love is so great that He makes sure that all of those things work together for good in our life. It is not that He only allows good things to happen. No, the promise is that our All-powerful Lord will always make sure we benefit from the things we experience in some way, whether they are bad or good. In fact, we can "know" this as a fact. We are to rest in this promise with confidence. We may not understand how He is doing this when we are in the middle of a trial, but we can have peace knowing He cares that much. Then, when we have the opportunity to look back on the trial, we will see how He did it. What a wonderful Father we have! He always takes care of His children.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 9-12.
