In the Morning
There is something very special about meeting with the Lord first thing in the morning. It is the absolute best way to prepare for a victorious day, no matter what life throws at us. David knew that truth very well. (Psalm 5:3) It was his practice, and it always led him in God's way. It was only when he failed to listen to the Lord that he departed from His will. We need to spend every morning with the Lord and keep our focus on Him continually.
The morning is when we can talk with God before the day gets busy, and we are distracted by many things. It is when we can lift our voices to the Lord and have an intimate conversation with Him. It is when it is quiet, so we can hear from Him even better. Also, if we do have a set way to pray or order to our prayer time, we know that we are praying for everything important. We especially want to take time to ask the Lord to lead us in His will all day long. When we do that, we need to watch eagerly as He constantly shows us what He is doing and invites us to join Him. What a joy to meet with the Lord in the morning!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 6-8.
