God's Provision for Our Obedience
When we obey God, even when what He asks doesn't seem reasonable or possible, He works to provide just what we need or even more. One example of this was the Sabbath year. God commanded the Israelites to allow the land to rest every seventh year. They were not to plant that year or to prune their vineyards. If they were obedient to His command, God would cause the crop of the sixth year to last 3 years, until the crop of the eighth year was harvested. (Leviticus 25:4,21) That is how God works.
There were people then who wondered how they would eat in the seventh and eighth years, so they would not obey the Lord. However, by their disobedience they missed a miracle. Today, it is the same way with the tithe. Many people do not see how they can live on 90% of their income, so they do not obey God's command to tithe. If they would obey, He would cause the 90% to go farther than the 100% would have gone. That is how God rewards our obedience with His provision. Try it and you will see what I have found for over 40 years. God is always faithful.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 26-27 and Numbers 1.
