God has Made Me Forget All My Trouble
We all have trouble. Jesus told us that while we were in this world, we will have tribulation. However, I believe Joseph's troubles far exceed anything we have had to endure. He was hated by his brothers. He was sold into slavery in a foreign land as a young person. He was falsely accused of sexual assault and put in prison for more than two years. Yet, in all of this he kept trusting God, and God eventually caused him to be able to forget all of his troubles and his father's household, while also making him fruitful in a foreign land. (Genesis 41:51,52) That is an amazing testimony after almost 30 years of abuse. God can and will do the same for any of us who will keep trusting Him and doing His will, like Joseph.
Joseph was promoted to second in command over all of Egypt. He was in charge of managing all the land through the years of abundance and famine. He received a wife from Pharaoh with whom he had 2 sons. His faith in God was still so strong that he named his sons Manasseh and Ephraim to be a lasting testimony to how God had made Him forget his troubles and to be fruitful. Of course, that was just the beginning to the blessings God was going to pour out on him.
What about you? Do you have hurts that only God can cause you to forget? Do you long to live a fruitful life? This is true for most, if not all, of us. However, the factor that makes the difference is if we believe God can and will do what we need Him to do, and we keep trusting Him. Please remember, troubles should drive us closer to God, not farther away. They will make us bitter or better. They made Joseph better. How about you?
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 43-46.
