Salvation is a Miracle!
As I write this post, I have just finished praying for specific people to be saved and for God to save others of whom I may not be aware right now. However, in both cases I know that it will take a miracle of God for them to be saved. Jesus made that clear to His disciples after his encounter with the rich young ruler. (Matthew 19:24,26) We all need to hear what Jesus said.
The rich man who came to Jesus was not saved, because He valued His possessions more than following Jesus. Therefore, Jesus told His disciples that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God. They were amazed, asking who could be saved then. Jesus explained that salvation is impossible for people, but with God all things are possible. In other words, salvation is a miracle, only possible because of God's power. None of us can save ourselves or anyone else. We have to throw ourselves upon the mercy of God, as we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. If God does not save us and forgive us, there is nothing else we can do.
Thankfully, God is willing and ready to save those who come to Him. He wants to work the miracle of salvation. Will you join me in praying daily for the Lord to work the miracle of salvation in the lives of those you know who need Him? Then, step back and marvel at how God works this miracle using you as a messenger or in whatever way He desires. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it is a wondrous event to behold.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Matthew 20-22.
