Hope, Joy, and Peace
God wants to fill every believer with joy and peace. This comes from the hope we have from God, because of our relationship with Jesus and the power of the Spirit. (Romans 15:13) I pray this is a reality in your life right now.
Our God is the God of hope. He does not want us to think that we "might" have eternal life. He wants us to be sure that we have eternal life beginning here and continuing in heaven forever. That is the sure hope He desires for all believers to have.
Once we are secure in our relationship with Christ, and we have that hope, we can have all joy and peace. Joy is the deep assurance that everything is just fine, and it will be just fine, no matter what happens in life. Peace is a tangible state of being that comes from God. He can and does give us peace of heart and mind, when we know Him, and we are secure in His arms. Then, once we have hope, joy, and peace, we can abound even more in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit guides us into all truth. The Spirit shows us things that we could not otherwise understand about spiritual things and eternity. Therefore, we can and should come to abound in hope.
God never wants His children to be insecure and stressed out. He wants us to have all joy and peace. He wants us to be fully secure in Christ. Anything less is missing the will of God for your life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Corinthians 2-5.
