Tell What God Has Done For You
There is no way we can fully understand the impact of a personal testimony on the life of another person. It is hard to argue with the factual events in a person's life, especially when they are presented with a passion that shows their truth. That is why Jesus told the demon possessed man, Legion, not to come with Him, but to go home to his friends and tell them what great things the Lord had done for him. (Mark 6:19,20) I believe Jesus wants us all to do the same thing today.
I know some people have incredible testimonies that show off God's power to guide and deliver people from great sins or horrible situations. However, those are not the only great testimonies. What could be better than the testimony of an adult who came to know the Lord at a young age and had continued to grow in the Lord, missing all of the terrible things of this world? That is a fantastic testimony, too. Therefore, no matter how God worked to bring us to know Jesus, we must tell our story to as many people as possible.
I believe in this post-modern world, where people are skeptical of science and the information that bombards them from all directions, that a testimony is much more effective than a logical presentation of the facts of the Bible. They may argue with the Bible, but they will have to listen to your heart and your experience. It will have weight, especially when they know you care about them.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Mark 8-10.
