Nothing is Too Hard For God
Jeremiah prayed a marvelous prayer in which He started by glorifying the Lord God as the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and remarked that "nothing is too hard for You." (Jeremiah 32:17) Now, that is the way to start any prayer. Let's consider why this is so important for us to do today, as well.
Prayer is all about having faith in God and in His will. It is not about getting our will done by God. Therefore, when we begin a prayer by praising the Lord for the power of His mighty arm to create the heavens and the earth, we are reminding ourselves of His great power. Then, it is easy to pray for anything, because we know that nothing is too hard for Him. The key is God being with us.
My pastor used to tell a story about a mouse that rode an elephant across a wooden jungle bridge. When they reached the other side, the mouse said, "Boy, we really shook that bridge didn't we?" The fact is, there was no "we" involved in shaking the bridge, but they had done it together.
When we are with God, nothing is too hard for us, because we have His power working in us and through us. That is how we should pray, and that is how we should live every day.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 33-35.
