The Proper Order
David failed to follow the proper order the first time he tried to have the ark of God moved to Jerusalem, and a man died because of his sin. Before he tried to move it a second time, he consulted God and His Word, so that he could follow the proper order, and things went well.(I Chronicles 15:2,13) The same thing is true for us.
We can sincerely try to do the right thing, like David did the first time, and we can have disastrous consequences because our ways are not God's ways and our thoughts are not His thoughts. We must find out God's order or design for what we are doing, and follow it completely for things to go well. This is true in our family, our church, our work, etc. God has a proper order for everything. We can trust Him and His order, or we can trust ourselves or someone else. We either put our faith in man's ways or God's ways. If we go against God's design, it is sin. Sin has terrible effects on our lives. Therefore, we need to trust God, find His order, and follow it, for our lives to go well.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 19-21.
