Faithful to God's Laws
God's design for this world is perfect. His laws and commands are always right. A wise person will follow God's design by following the Word of God, the Bible. That is what king Josiah did better than any other king of Judah. Even though he started reigning as king at a very young age, and he was not aware of God's laws growing up, once he heard them, he turned to the Lord's way with all of his heart, soul, and might.(II Kings 23:25) We all would do well to follow his example in being totally faithful to God's laws.
The people of God had lost the book of the law of God, which is the first 5 books of the Bible. It was not until the boy king, Josiah, commissioned the workers to clean up and renovate the temple that a copy was found. Then, when it was read to Josiah he knew the serious nature of their sins, and that God was bound to punish them. However, God saw his tender heart and held off the punishment. For the rest of his life Josiah did everything he could to keep every single law of God fully.
We have Bibles all around us, but we may not be reading them, and we may not have a mind to obey "all" of it like Josiah. My challenge to all of us is that we read God's Word daily, and whatever we find in it, obey it completely. God will bless that person who has such great faith in Him and His Word.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 24-25 and I Chronicles 1.
