Restoration
Jesus is in the restoration business. He can take what has been broken or deteriorated and restore it like new. This is true whether it is a withered hand or a withered life.(I Kings 13:6) On this Good Friday we need to remember that the Cross of Jesus was all about restoration from the devastation of sin.
Adam and Eve were created by God perfectly, and He placed them in a perfect place. They had perfect fellowship with God, as they lived in the Garden of Eden. Then, when sin came, everything changed. The fellowship was broken, death entered the world, and they were destined to live in a fallen state. However, it was never God's plan for mankind to remain broken. Immediately, the blood was shed, and they were given clothes of animal skins to show His love and desire to restore the relationship and forgive the sin. However, the ultimate restoration came at the Cross, when the sinless, Son of God shed His blood that we all might have all of our sins forgiven and be restored to the fellowship with God Adam and Eve once enjoyed. Of course, heaven is the complete restoration body, soul, and spirit, but even now those who know Christ can walk with Him fully each day.
What is broken in your life? What has deteriorated? Please, remember the Cross of Christ and His sacrifice to restore all things like new. Entreat the Lord Jesus in faith to restore whatever is broken, and watch to see His power of restoration.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Kings 16-19.
