Wait on the Lord
God never faints; He never gets tired. People faint; people get tired. What is the solution? Wait on the Lord.(Isaiah 40:28,31) If we will take time to go to the Lord and look expectantly for what He has to say to us and to give us, He will renew our strength, so that we can run and not be weary, we can walk and not faint. What a precious promise and an invaluable truth.
When we try to do too much, we get tired and fail. When we remember to put the Lord first, so that we always wait on the Lord each day, we will not get tired, and we will not fail. I know that is a huge claim, but I have supreme confidence in the fact that what the Lord sends us to do, He empowers us to accomplish well. The problem is that we add in a lot of stuff He did not call us to do. We are scurrying around like Martha, when we should be sitting at the feet of Jesus like Mary. Let's choose the best thing, and let's see if God doesn't fulfill His promise. I am sure He will.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 44-46.
