Workers for the Harvest
Jesus came to seek those who were not believing and call them to repentance and faith in Him. Our mission is to do the same thing. The problem is that there are so many people who need Him, but few people who are willing to be workers in the harvest. We must pray for God to send out laborers into His harvest.(Matthew 9:37,38) This is Jesus' command to us, as His disciples.
We must not run from people who need the Lord, but run to them. We must not isolate ourselves from people who don't follow Jesus, but we must engage them, so that we can share the truth and shine the light of Christ into their lives. We must not be busy with our needs while the world is dying around us without Christ and without hope.
Remember, it is His harvest, not ours. We can't produce the fruit, but we are part of harvesting His fruit. We are the ones to share the Good News of Christ, the truth of the Word. Then, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If we do not share, they can't be saved. God is calling all of us to go into the harvest before it is eternally too late.
Are you working in the harvest? If not, why not? Are you praying for more workers? If not, why not? We must be about the Father's business. The harvest is the Father's business. That is why He sent His Only-Begotten Son into the world.(John 3:16)
Tomorrow, I intend to read Matthew 10-12.
