Present Sufferings and Future Glory
Suffering is a part of life. Learn how to deal with it, or you will be miserable. Don't worry about it. That doesn't help. Pray about it. Don't fret over problems, count them all joy, since God is using them to make you more like Jesus. Stop focusing on the present sufferings, and think about the glory that is coming for those who know Christ.(Romans 8:18) It is far beyond anything you can imagine, and it is so much greater than your sufferings that there is no comparison.
Have you been in a group of people talking about their sufferings and problems? The conversation tends to go on and on, as each person shares something worse than the person before. It is depressing. It proves nothing, and it helps nothing. Let's change this practice. Why don't we start sharing about the glories of heaven and see who can outdo the one before? That would be more helpful. We need to stop focusing on the sufferings of life and focus on the eternal glory ahead of us. Of course, the first thing on which to focus is Jesus, because without Him there is no future glory for anyone.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 12-14.
