God's Gracious Provision
It is always wonderful to see how God answers our prayers. Of course, we pray for His will to be done, but we pray about the concerns of our hearts. We ask Him to meet those needs. Most of the time, we do not know how He will answer. That is why we are praying. If we knew what to do, or how to meet the need, we probably would just go ahead and do it. However, we really should pray about everything, as much as possible, because God wants to be a part of all we do.
Recently, I prayed with a friend, because there was a great need for a person to step up and fill an important position. Many people were asked about their willingness, but none accepted. Then, when the choice was made, a very good person stepped up and gladly accepted the position. It was like God brought someone out of nothing. Before we prayed, it seemed almost a lost cause. Then, God graciously provided from an unlikely source. Praise the Lord!
I have seen that happen so many times. We try to figure out what to do, and then, we ask God to bless it, or we try to figure out who to ask, and we ask God to work on them. That is not a very good way to pray. God's choice is better than our choice, and even when we don't know of an option, He has one waiting, if it is in His will. Therefore, our main prayer should always be for God's will to be done. He will do better than we could ever ask or think.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Amos 6-8.
