Seeking To Follow God's Direction
We met with the executive secretary of the Dominican Baptist Convention this morning for a couple of hours, so that we could hear his vision for reaching this country for Christ. To put it in a nutshell his vision is to invest time in the community helping to meet the needs of people and building relationships. Of course, the pastors and church leaders need to be trained and held accountable, too. He shared a lot of wisdom with us, but now we have to discern what God wants us to do. We will go to Bonao tomorrow, and we will meet with our friend, Pastor Maximo, and then, we will take him to Moca to show us his work there. We will keep praying for God to make His will clear.
That is how life is most of the time. We have 90% of God's will for us revealed in the Bible. The rest we have to discern from praying and seeking to hear from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, the Spirit speaks through the Word as we read or through other people. However, God is faithful. If we are listening, He knows how to communicate with us clearly, so we can obey and bear fruit for His glory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 137-139.
