Christian Fellowship
Often Christians have a false view of fellowship. We think it is about visiting with other people while we enjoy a meal together. That is not the meaning of the Biblical word for fellowship. In the Bible fellowship is participating together in serving the Lord Jesus to build up His kingdom. That is a huge difference, isn't it?
Why is there a lack of genuine Christian fellowship today? Of course, if there was more service going on, there would be more fellowship in that service. However, what I mean is a little different. I think people engage in service that will benefit their church or even themselves, but they are not focused on building God's kingdom in cooperation with other believers. Therefore, we have limited fellowship with other believers in our church, if we engage in service, but we don't usually participate with believers from other churches or denominations. I am afraid that is why we are losing the battle for souls to Satan.
Satan's plan for victory is to "divide and conquer." He is pretty effective in his strategy. If he gets us to compete with each other, and to attack each other, he knows we will lack the true fellowship it takes to expand the kingdom of God. We must not let him win. We must find ways to enter into Christian fellowship for the glory of God and for the up-building of His kingdom, not our own kingdoms.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 18-21.
