Patience
I am so glad to say that we had a good flight to Dallas today. It will be nice to spend a week with our family. I wish John and Gao Foua could be here, too, but they are busy with their jobs at this time of the year. We are here to celebrate a couple of birthdays, since my mom and Lori share the same birthday.
Taking trips can be a very stressful time. Then, when you throw in the fact that we had a one year old with us, it really gets complicated. We had three people trying to meet a deadline to get to the airport and take care of a baby at the same time. We had dirty diapers to change, packing to finish, and getting it all in the car. I am glad to say that we made it to the plane, and I think we packed everything we needed. However, the security line was a challenge, because the stroller got stuck in the X-ray machine. Then, we finally got on the plane with three carry-on bags. All of them were heavy, and they just barley fit in the bins. The plane was hot, and we were in the back, so Chris had a very bad motion sickness headache. She had to lay down on the seat next to her. Then, we got off the plane with all of our stuff, and we met Lori. Whew! It was good to be off of that plane.
The reason I told this story was to give praise to the Lord for our family. We went through all of that with no harsh words or anger. Everyone was patient, even when we did not receive any help from the TSA folks or the flight attendants. That could only come from the Lord and the power of the Spirit. What a blessing. God has a plan for us to grow, and when we do, it makes a big difference in our lives, We can have joy and peace in the midst of trials, and we can still enjoy the journey. Thank you, Lord. You are so good.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Samuel 7-9.
