The Peace of God
There are so many questions about life that can't be answered by us as humans. There are so many problems which will never be solved by our intellect or power. These situations lead us to be anxious and worry about things. God's Word commands us not to worry, though. (Philippians 4:6,7) Is it possible not to worry? Yes, it is possible. We must turn to trusting God in prayer and having an attitude of thanksgiving. Those simple things can end worry in our lives.
We can begin to take everything to God in prayer. He hears, and He cares. As we pray we exercise an attitude of thanksgiving, because we know that He is in control, and He would not allow us to go through more than we can handle with His help. Once we thankfully cast our cares at His feet, we can walk away with no worries, only confidence in the one who does know what will happen tomorrow. Since He is in control, He will take care of us as we trust Him.
Then, comes the best part. Not only does the worry leave, the peace of God comes in abundance. His peace guards our hearts and minds. We will not be able to understand the peace, but we will know its power to soothe our souls. That is God's love and care in action. I pray that each of us will know His peace and the freedom from worry.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 1-2 and Galatians 5.
