Living by Faith - Ezekiel 3-4 and Hebrews 11:20-40
Ezekiel was called by God to do some strange things, and he was told up front that the people would not listen to him. Still, he lived by faith in God, so he did what God told him. He ate the scroll. He became the watchman to warn the house of Israel. He made a model of Jerusalem and pretended to attack it. He laid on his side to show the siege of Jerusalem, and he ate bread cooked over cow dung. Remember, he did these things out of faith in God. What has God told you to do that you have done by faith lately?
Hebrews 11 continues the list of the faithful. Again, they were known for their faith by what they did and what happened to them. The Bible says the world was not worthy of them. In other words, they were better than the world. However, the world thought they were crazy and strange. Do we trust God enough to do His will, even though others think we are weird? That is real Biblical faith. That is living in faith.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 5-7 and Hebrews 12.
