He Will Make The Way of Escape - Psalms 123-125 and I Corinthians 10:1-18
Life is hard, and it is easy to fall into the traps along the way. Satan sets those snares to catch us. He uses the flesh to tempt us and to try us. If we don't watch out, we fall for his scheme, but that is never the will of God. God wants us to pass the test and to have victory through the trial to strengthen our faith in Him. Therefore, each time He gives us a way of escaping the snare. The problem is that we are not looking to Him as we should. Psalm 123 exhorts us to keep our eyes on Him expectantly and obediently. The testimony of David in Psalm 124 was that God had delivered him from the snare of the fowlers, those people who would have trapped him. He confidently lets us know that the reason for his escape was that God was his help. In fact, the psalmist in Psalm 125 tells us that God is that fortress for our lives. When we abide in Him nothing can touch us or defeat us. I pray that we all see God's heart to grant us escape and victory.
Paul tells us exactly the same thing in I Corinthians 10. After he recounts the problems into which Israel fell, he assures us that no temptation is too big for God. He knows them all. He gives us a way of escape each time, if we will watch for His way. We can get out of it without sinning. Don't let Satan tell you your situation is worse than others. All trials are common. God has seen them all. Don't let Satan or others tell you that you have to sin to get out of a situation. There is always a way out provided by the Lord. Don't have a defeatist attitude. It is possible to live for the Lord and do His will in the trials of life. The secret is staying focused on Him and doing just what He tells us to do, instead of trying to do it ourselves. I pray that we all will find the ways of the Lord to escape our trials and live in victory each step of the way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 126-128 and I Corinthians 10:19-33.
