Dining with Jesus
On this Christmas day I am sure that many of us will be sitting down to have a nice meal with our family or friends. I pray that is the case for you. It is one of the most delightful things we can do to have fellowship with the ones we love. Gathering around the table to eat together shows a level of comfort and love that we all need to have with others.
Jesus used this analogy to explain to us His relationship with those who know Him as Lord and Savior. Please, hear what Jesus has to say as we celebrate His incarnation today. (Revelation 3:20) "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me." I pray you are dining with Jesus today.
I have been dining with Jesus for about 45 years. Yes, I remember it well. Rev. J. C. Arwood was preaching on Palm Sunday of 1970. He concluded his message with an invitation to trust Jesus, as he usually did. He used this verse to touch my heart that day. He knocked on the pulpit, and Jesus knocked on my heart. I opened the door, and He came in to dine with me. He has been having that loving fellowship with me ever since.
It is a daily fellowship. We sit down together in the mornings as I speak with Him in prayer, and as I read His Word. He continues to walk with me all day, so I can constantly communicate my needs and my requests for His wisdom. As long as I am following Him, He is with me, and He will remain with me until He calls me home to heaven. Then, I will be in His presence forever. That is the Savior's love we celebrate today.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 5-7.
